Diet

It is suggested that the diet is changed to eliminate sugar and reduce the intake of wheat, dairy and gluten products, moving away from acidic to alkaline foods. The information provided below is for guidance only, you should seek medical advice if you planning to change your diet to ensure it is clinically beneficial for you. The aim of this information is to assess your current diet and try to implement more alkaline foods than acidic foods.

Alkaline Foods

Highly Alkaline Foods:

Himalayan salt, Grasses, Cucumber, Kale, Spinach, Parsley, Broccoli, Sprouts (soy, alfalfa etc.), Sea Vegetables (Kelp), and Green drinks.

Moderately Alkaline Foods:

Avocado, Capsicum/Pepper, Mustard Greens, cabbage, Okra, Celery, Onion, Collard/Spring Greens, Radish, Red Onion, Ginger, Endive, Garlic, Rocket/Arugula, Tomato, Butter Beans, Soybeans, Lime, Quinoa, Lemon, White Haricot Beans, Chia/Salba seeds, Green Beans, Beetroot and Lettuce.

Mildly Alkaline Foods:

Artichokes, Asparagus, Brussels, Cauliflower, Carrot, Chives, Courgette/Zucchini, Leeks, New Red Potatoes, Peas, Rhubarb, Swede, Watercress, Buckwheat, Spelt, Lentils, Tofu, Almond Mild, Most Herbs & Spices, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Flax oil.

Acidic Foods

Highly Acidic Foods:

Alcohol, over the counter and prescribed drugs, Coffee, Tea, Cocoa, Sugars & Sweeteners, Dried Fruit, Beef, Chicken, Eggs, Farmed Fish, Pork, Shellfish, Cheeses, most Dairy (except raw dairy, which can be slightly alkalizing) and Mushrooms.

Moderately Acidic Foods:

Butter, Apple, Apricot, Banana, Blackberry, Cranberry, Grape, Mango, Peach, Orange, Papaya, Pineapple, Strawberry, Brown rice, Wheat, Wild Rice and Ocean Fish.

Mildly Acidic Foods:

Black Beans, Kidney Beans, Garbanzo Beans, Cantaloupe, Currents, Dates, Nectarine, Plum, Cherry, Amaranth, Millet, Oats, Rice, Soy, Hemp Protein, Freshwater Wild Fish, Brazil, Pecan and Hazelnuts.
